This role is an exciting opportunity for a dynamic and innovative person to be at the forefront of change in one of the great Departments of State. We need to boost our business analysis capacity to achieve this as the post holders will provide a key link between current and future business models, supporting and enhancing delivery on large scale and/or complex projects and programmes.

The right person for this role will have a proven track record of business analysis, including in agile environments, with the ability to translate strategy and end-to-end business design into detailed outcomes relating to change initiatives. You will need to be able to work at pace, as we operate in an often rapidly changing environment and be comfortable working autonomously to drive progress. Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills will also be key.

Ensuring our outcomes are in line with the overall service vision, you will gather information on the requirements of the users involved in your project. Using process modelling and gap analysis to understand how we can get to the desired end state, you will constructively challenge partners, identifying the potential issues facing the project, seeking out any weaknesses as it develops. You will also manage the requirements of the stakeholders involved in the process, ensuring their input remains at the heart of the overall benefits analysis. With good communication, collaboration and influencing skills, you will have an awareness of planning, risk and issue management, with a working knowledge of requirements management and business analysis. An International Diploma in Business Analysis or another related qualification is desirable (though an equivalent level of experience will be required if you don’t have this qualification). You will also be able to work with ambiguity and have the capacity to inspire others during a culture change.
