We are looking for an enthusiastic, technical IT person who is a team player, keen to deliver a high quality service to the desktops of our student and staff customers.

The postholder will have strong experience of using both Microsoft Windows 10 and Windows 7 platforms including Microsoft Office which is used intensively in our environment. Also Windows Server 2012 and if possible Windows Server 2016. You must possess application repackaging and operating system delivery skills and have experience of using and managing enterprise systems management tools such as SCCM.

The postholder will have a strong working knowledge of PowerShell as well as a good working knowledge of Active Directory, Group Policy and legacy scripting such as batch or windows scripting. Experience of working in a role-based access control and least privilege environment is desirable. Any knowledge and experience of networking technologies or RDS/VDI (Hyper-V) would be advantageous.

The postholder will be a good verbal communicator, and will also be capable of producing quality documentation and work with users of varying IT capabilities - from the technical experts to the less experienced IT customers.

It is essential that the postholder is professional when working with customers; whilst being able to manage technical work projects such as upgrades or software replacements. Moreover, the post holder will carry out technical investigations into problems with impact analysis and liaising with customers. Project work will involve working with other teams and therefore good planning, communication and awareness of change management processes are essential.
