Job Title: IT Security Consultant

Location: Telford

Contract: £500 per day

6 Months +

Role:

Our leading client requires a to protect against unauthorised access to data and information through real time monitoring and alerting. To monitor through appropriate reporting and highlight on a reactive basis, access to the production environment and any add/changes/deletions that can affect production performance.

*Monitor security policy compliance by conducting continual technical audits. Assess internal and external scan reports - identify false positives, research vulnerabilities, communicate results to management and system administrators. Must be capable of challenging external experts when reports are erroneous.

*Regularly review Microsoft, HP and 3rd Party applications patching vulnerabilities for their applicability. Manage the deployment of these patches on an ongoing basis. Participate in the weekly patch review forum.

*Support the vulnerability management program, including vulnerability notification, vulnerability scanning, facilitation and performance of vulnerability reporting.

*Monitor and review of intrusion detection system reporting, network device logs, SIEM and other security logs daily so that all security events are in line with agreed standards, procedures and controls.

Key Skills:

*Familiarity or experience with IT security best practice, ISO27001, CIS (SANS)

*Problem solving techniques

*In depth IT security skills, audit skills and compliance to regulatory requirements

*IT Security regulatory requirements

*Experience of Infrastructure support within a large multi-site environment

*Windows, Unix, Linux, SQL & Oracle and Network architectures

*Development and SDLC experience.

*Knowledge of current development frameworks such as .NET.

*Proficient with PowerShell, Bash and other scripting languages.

*Financial Services regulatory requirements or similar

*Experience with SQL, C# and other modern OO languages.

*Experience of managing IT suppliers, 3rd parties and partners.

*Experienced and demonstrable understanding of the ITIL service framework

*Working within the financial sector or a regulated environment

Qualifications:

*CISSP or equivalent

*Degree educated or equivalent

*ITIL V3 foundation certificate preferred
