The Code of Practice on the English language requirement for public sector workers, Part 7 of the Immigration Act 2016, requires that Councils ensure that all candidates applying for customer facing posts must be assessed in order to establish their fluency in English.

As an ICT Professional you will work as part of a small, busy team providing ICT support and information both within WYPF and to the employers within the fund. Your role will be to maximise the effectiveness of West Yorkshire Pension Fund’s IT by the selection, development, implementation and ongoing enhancement of IT systems in use within the department. You will provide first and second line support for WYPF’s IT systems to both internal users and external clients, raising development and support requests with external system suppliers when necessary.

As a minimum you will have at four years relevant experience at a senior level in a relevant IT environment and a degree or equivalent in a relevant IT subject. We also require knowledge of relational database concepts, an understanding of the system development process and knowledge of the principles and application of a range of languages and tools, in particular, .NET (C#), HTML, JavaScript frameworks, SQL and Oracle PL SQL.

You will also have the enthusiasm and commitment needed to provide an excellent service to tight deadlines working on your own initiative.
