WHAT TO EXPECT

The Global Purchasing Programmes and Operations, Planning & Control are currently transitioning from Excel based planning to an integrated schedule driven plan using high performance project management software.

As Project Management Scheduling Planner you'll be part of the Vehicle Planning team which is leading this transition. Taking a critical role at the heart of the team, you'll use your expertise and knowledge for planning Purchasing activities within the programme, to meet the deliverables of the programme or department. Working with the scheduling and wider teams, you'll need to understand immediate and wider programme activities and interactions to ensure the programme is on track and appropriate risks are highlighted where deviation is encountered.

Operation as a programme planner, you'll support the programme team in transitioning to this new way of working and ensure on-time delivery of a vehicle programme to its planned schedule. You'll develop and manage an integrated critical path schedule of work and will identify areas of high risk within the plans. You'll develop contingency actions, compile management reports, and guide the programme through the initial contracting of schedule management at the start of the programme.

Finally you'll provide guidance, advice, and coaching to the programme team and the wider planning function.

WHAT YOU'LL NEED

You'll need strong schedule management skills including critical path analysis, risk management, change management, and network planning skills. Due to the nature of the role, it is essential that you are a competent user of Primavera P6 and MS Project Software. As a skilled communicator, you'll have strong stakeholder management skills which will enable you to be able to negotiate and embed the use of schedule management within a programme's across multiple stakeholders across all levels of the business.
