Vivacity are revolutionising road transport, introducing digital transport infrastructure to improve operation of traffic signals, traffic management, and ultimately autonomous vehicles. We build intelligent cameras with on-board video analytic capabilities, gathering live information to quantify the movement of pedestrians, vehicles and cyclists. We are currently rolling out thousands of cameras across the UK, with financial backing from both industry leaders & top VC firms.

The role

We are currently looking for two highly motivated Junior Developers to join our dynamic and rapidly-growing start up. Depending on your background, you will be working closely with our web team to deliver intuitive portals & dashboards and associated back-ends; or integrating computer vision / artificial intelligence with scalable internet-of-things technologies to allow city-scale deployments.

In either of these roles, it will be your strong coding background, commitment for improvement and your ability for learning new technologies and frameworks in a commercial environment which will enable you to grow in this position.

Our team also offers exciting opportunities for further research in computer vision and machine learning. In any role, we would love to hear your ideas on how you could contribute to our team.

To qualify

You should be a developer with:

- Some programming experience e.g. 1+ year of commercial development experience, Computer Science degree, or significant open source contributions

- Demonstrable ability to rapidly pick up new technologies, frameworks and skills;

- Ability to thrive in a dynamic, entrepreneurial environment;

- Strong collaborative and social skills;

- The ambition and enthusiasm to drive the company forward.

Bonus experience

- Prior experience in software development with start-ups would be a significant bonus, but is not critical

- Experience working with machine learning technologies.

- Experience of agile development methodologies (particularly Scrum); and Continuous Integration, Testing and Deployment.

- We would also value experience with cloud hosting providers, and Bash & Linux systems management/DevOps
