Role

The IT Vendor Manager is responsible for the strategic management of contract, performance, relationship and risk management roles with IT vendors. They will own and understand contractual, commercial and operational working relationships with vendors to ensure that contractual commitments are delivered across IT in support of the University Strategic IS Investment Roadmap and service portfolio. IT vendors include those delivering IT products (hardware or software) or IT services (consulting, application development, infrastructure and so on).

This role is to develop and lead the IT vendor management strategy, ensuring that IT vendors are delivering maximum value through their services in support of the University IS Strategic roadmap and service portfolio.

Ideal Candidate

The successful candidate will have proven and demonstrable experience in:

IT vendor management, procurement and commercial management.

You will have demonstrable knowledge of good practice and guidance relating to effective vendor management, as well as a proven record of strong leadership and management of a significant portfolio of vendors. In depth understanding of the critical role of vendor management in a large and complex organisation is also essential.
