Job Summary

We’re looking for an experienced Enterprise Architect to join our Architecture team! You will first and foremost be a leader within the technology domain at Bupa and will have extensive experience of delivering technology enabled business change and have a passion and interest in using technology to solve business challenges. You will be a recognised expert in your chosen technology domain combined with a broad understanding of other domains and their applications. You will also be interested in the evolving technology landscape and have experience of engaging with business stakeholders to engage them in the possibilities that technology change can deliver.

Key Responsibilities

Market Unit/Business Unit/Centre Support

- Engage with specific Market Unit, Business Unit and Centre leaders to understand their business challenges current plans for changes and opportunities for technology to play a key enabling role.

- Engage with ongoing and planned change programmes to provide leadership and support in the development of new designs and approaches to the problems.

- Engage with technology providers to understand their offerings and direction and provide a bridge to the businesses to identify opportunities for technology enabled change that supports the local businesses roadmap and the Bupa corporate strategy. Turn these opportunities into deliverable programmes

Strategy and Standards

- Develop and oversee the Bupa IT Strategy

- Coordinate the production of Bupa IT Standards

- Ensure governance of and compliance with the strategy and standards across Bupa

Technology Awareness

- Conduct research into new technology areas which are likely to have an impact on Bupa. Explore the use cases which will have a medium term impact on Bupa. Publish papers/reports on these areas and use the research to inform discussions with stakeholders.

Essential Skills

- Degree or postgraduate qualification in scientific, mathematical or engineering discipline

- Extensive experience in a technology leadership role

- Extensive experience in project and change delivery

- Experience of having a leading role in technology and vendor selection processes.

- Experience of working in a central role within a federated organisation would be beneficial

- Knowledge of healthcare and/or health insurance would be beneficial

- Strong interpersonal skills with evidence of developing strong relationships with business and technology leaders

- Strong verbal communication skills with the ability to explain complex topics to users, leaders and technology peers.

- Strong written communication skills with experience of writing papers for executive level readers
