This Head of Software Architect is a senior leadership role in a world class company and leader in the manufacture of secure and confidential products for a broad-ranging global customer base. It has an excellent reputation for its products and is a trusted partner of governments, financial institutions and commercial organisations around the world; it is a significant employer and a well-known company. It manufactures from multiple locations and the software function operates from two key sites in the UK.

As Head of Software Architecture you will form part of the senior team, lead and drive the Company’s software architecture strategy in order to support its longer term goals and objectives. There is an existing high quality and experienced team in place on two sites, and through your leadership you will deliver best practice, produce high quality architecture deliverables and provide world class enterprise and application architecture including Bid Solutions from a common platform. Currently there are a number of platforms, legacy systems and products for which the technical roadmap, architecture design and direction needs focus, and the code is a complex mix of C#, C++ / .NET.

A high calibre and experienced individual is required for the Head of Software Architect. Educated to degree level in computer science, as Head of Software Architect you will need a significant track record which has been built in complex manufacturing environments and demonstrates significant success in software development with a strong focus on architecture encompassing the modification of technical architectures and their associated strategies. You will need large scale systems expertise, excellent leadership competencies and the ability to operate cross-functionally. Of prime importance as Head of Software Architect will be your ability to vision the future and define and deliver the roadmap that will provide a solid platform to support planned business growth.

You will have worked with multi-tiered enterprise architectures, portals, application servers, messaging and database technologies and have a strong understanding of software security principles. The Head of Software Architect role will appeal to a highly-driven change agent, and considerable scope will be offered to impact upon the business.
