About BookingTek:

BookingTek is the leading provider of real-time, meeting booking and payment software to the hospitality industry. We produced the first software and websites that allowed instant-booking and immediate payment for meetings at hotels. This year we expanded our product range to include instantly downloadable, lower cost SaaS for individual and smaller hotel groups. In 2016 we are going international, expanding in to the US, Western Europe and Australia.

We have a unique integration with Oracle’s dominant hotel property management system (PMS) which creates a highly defendable position for us. Our clients include some of the largest and most highly regarded global hotel groups. We are about to add a large number of smaller independent hotel customers across 12 new countries. We have a full pipeline of new products that our larger clients have asked us to develop and we need a talented team of developers to help design and deliver these as well as keep our existing range at the leading edge.

We have a significant opportunity for a talented, inspired, and collaborative Lead Web Engineer to build their own team from the ground up. Working closely with Product Management and Design, you will drive the delivery of our web-based platforms - consuming design deliverables including wireframes, user flows, information architecture and specifications that create deep user engagement and successful business results. 

The Role:

The ideal candidate has strong C# skills and is comfortable working with distributed teams.

They have worked with defining and consuming REST or SOAP web services, are ready to implement to a high design aesthetic for consumers but are not afraid of the gritty details like performance and security.

Responsibilities:

Hire and manage a development team to work alongside our external onshore development team to build amazing websites and software for equally amazing clients based all over the globe

Help create a technical roadmap to guide team decisions

Evaluate and recommend 3rd-party solutions

Produce design documentation to match customer requirements

Requirements:

5+ years of experience designing and building web solutions using Microsoft technologies

Expert-level C# skills with .Net Framework, ASP.NET/MVC, web services, and JSON

Modern web technologies like: JavaScript, jQuery, CSS3, HTML5,

Strong presentation and communication skills

Good knowledge and understanding of web service API’s

Experience with multi-lingual and multi-currency ecommerce sites is a big advantage

Experience building, maintaining, and supporting development, testing, and production environments

Experience and desire to work in a fast-moving, dynamic environment

Track record producing robust, industry-leading solutions

Existing right to work in the UK

Desired Skills: 

Experience building and supporting applications in a cloud-based environment (AWS or Azure)

Experience with data integration tools and extract, transformation and load (ETL) tools

REST API web service design

Knowledge of industry-leading hospitality software

Familiar with automated testing, code quality tools, and continuous integration

Experience with an Agile or hybrid approach to development & project management software

Located in South or West London or within easy commuting distance of Richmond upon Thames
