De Montfort University (DMU) is on a journey to transform the digital customer experience we provide to staff and students. The new Director of ITMS will lead the modernisation of our IT provision. This exciting role needs a strategic-level, technology change leader to drive organisation-wide technology transformation. The Director of ITMS will lead an efficient, pragmatic yet innovative IT provision to DMU’s diverse student, teaching & learning communities.

The Role

- Operate as a senior leader right across the University, build positive relationships with key professional services and academic stakeholders. Stimulate, shape and manage the demand for customer-driven, IT Services.

- Engage with and inspire the IT team, shape its culture and drive the adoption of contemporary IT industry disciplines. Drive clarity of responsibility, and process, plus create an absolute focus on customer service, change delivery and organisational benefits.

- Develop and deliver an innovative, cogent IT strategy, which streamlines our technology and ERP landscape, as well as delivering a sophisticated digital customer experience.

The Candidate

- You will have demonstrable experience of shaping high-performing IT functions to meet the demands of a technology reliant, customer driven organisation. You should possess strategic level IT leadership experience, in information-driven environments, either from industry, the Higher Education or wider public/third sectors.

- Politically savvy and an outstanding communicator, you will have the ability to proactively build relationships with board level stakeholders, both across the University and in wider industry.

- An excellent people leader, you will have the proven ability to enthuse and galvanise large IT teams. You will have created shared visions of the future and experience implementing, customer-service focused, modern IT working practices.
