Python Software V&V Engineer

Location: Cambridge

Security Clearance: BPSS

Purpose of the job:

To work within a software verification and validation team for updates to existing Engine Ice Protection System control software. The engineer will have to work either in an early morning shift or an afternoon shift, due to limited availability of test rigs.

Skills / Experience :

Expertise: Verification and Validation, Hardware Software Integration Testing(HSIT), Software-Software Integration Testing(SSIT), Module Testing(MT)

Computer Languages:

C and PYTHON (No need to be expert, but should have done Python scripting to develop test scripts)

Should have Project experience related below aircraft systems:

- FADEC

- Anti-Icing systems

Experience:

- Look out for at least 5 or 6+ years of experienced candidates

Key tasks / Responsibilities:

- Generation of Python test scripts

- Verification of the updated Controller software using Python test scripts

- Compilation of test reports

- Support to software reviews with the customer

- Hardware Software Integration Testing(HSIT)

- Software-Software Integration Testing(SSIT)

- Module Testing(MT)

Mandatory skills:( max 5 )

- Python Language (required to develop test scripts)

- Knowledge / experience in safety critical software verification and validation (DO178)

- Knoweldge of Integration and Unit Testing

- Knowledge of Functional/Requirements Testing

Proficiency required:

- Python

- DO178

- Safety critical Verification and Validation

Desirable skills required for this position:

- Experience of working on full software development lifecycle

- Experience of supporting software certification with FAA and EASA

- Knowledge of System Engineering and ARP4754 standards
