SC Cleared Storage Operations Engineer - Newcastle upon Tyne - 6 months

SC Cleared Storage Operations Engineer required to work on the proactive and reactive maintenance and management of the storage infrastructure ensuring ensure service levels are maintained and that the storage infrastructure is robust and available. This role is based in Newcastle on a 6 month contract.

The role will require a flexible working ethic and a pragmatic approach to IT Support, you will have second or third line support background, and have good customer service and communication skills

Key Responsibilities:

* Perform a full range of ITIL service delivery skills, e.g. Incident and Problem Management, Change Management, Configuration and Release Management.

* Perform Root Cause Analysis where appropriate, propose and implement long-term fixes.

* Software lifecycle management - monitor product EOLs, define product roadmap, test and implement software releases.

* Hardware lifecycle management - monitor product EOL, define product roadmap, raise business case for upgrades, implement replacement hardware and manage migrations alongside other supported teams affected.

* Firmware and software maintenance

* Coordinating/participation in service restoration and root cause analysis

* Production and review of storage reports

* Liaise with key stakeholders/ITO capabilities to resolve incidents

* Log hardware calls with vendor for any failed infrastructure

* Proactive management and maintenance of the storage infrastructure

* Participation in an on call rota and out of hours work
