Messaging Engineer to be based in Erskine on an initial 6 Month contract. Experienced in Lync 2010, 2014 is a key skills requirement.

Job Title - Messaging Engineer

Location - Erskine

Rate - £ 275 per day

Duration - 6 Months

Skills / Experience required:

* Usually assists with multiple customers working on medium to large project/programs, multiple client sites and management organizations

* Able to manage a team of consultants in the completion of one or more solution requirements, architecture, or implementation deliverable

* Leads and/or provides expertise to functional project teams and may participate in cross-functional initiatives. Sustained and consistent contribution at the work group level

* Creates and supports sales activities. Manages bids, or major input into the sales lifecycle. Manages activities and provides qualitative and quantitative information for successful sales.

* Actively grows client portfolio with existing customers through new opportunities and change management

* Provides advanced technical consulting and advice to others on proposal efforts, solution design, system management, tuning and modification of solutions. Provides input to HPE strategy moving forward.

* Applies advanced subject matter knowledge to complex business issues, and is regarded by others within client as a subject matter expert.

* Usually works on complex problems or projects where analysis of situations or data requires an in depth evaluation of multiple factor

* Regularly exercises significant independent judgment within broadly defined policies and practices to determine best method for accomplishing work and achieving objectives.

* Sometimes directs and supervises within area of expertise but does not manage other employees as a primary job function.

* Leads and/or provides expertise to functional project teams and may participate in crossfunctional initiatives

Knowledge and Skills

* Demonstrates the use of consulting skills including: questioning, listening, ideas development, permission and rapport, and influencing.

* Ability to conduct/lead oral status/technical interchange meetings with customers on small to medium sized engagements.

* Ability to work in a multi-technology environment with the ability to diagnose complex technical problems to their root cause. In addition to troubleshooting skills and consulting skills, has ability to summarise prognosis and impact at practice lead level.

* Owns and contributes to the technical design of customer solutions. Ability to translate technical details into concise and easy to understand written form. Ability to write relevant components of a proposal document (e.g. answer specific RFP/RFQ questions). Ability to translate verbal requirements from face to face client meetings into requirements documents, statements of work, and proposals.

* Able to discuss (within own area of expertise) requirements with the customer, and to challenge and clarify when appropriate. From the requirements, able to develop a high level design or plan, and then estimate the amount of effort required to deliver. Able to advise the engagement owner about the risks associated with this work package.

* Ability to work with a team to provide written responses to technical proposals and /or reports/documentation for delivery to tech lead/project manager.

* Ability to create and develop standards, guidelines, workflow processes and best practices

* Has sufficient depth and breadth of technical knowledge to design and scope multiple deliverables across a number of technologies.

* Demonstrates broad knowledge in other technical areas in order to properly manage complex integration efforts. Demonstrates application of technical expertise in successful engagements involving multiple disciplines.

* Ability to present within the Messaging area of expertise as part of a customer sales presentation, putting forward domain-specific information within the context of an HP sales campaign.

* Produce and Review installation design documents.

* Lync 2010, 2014 is a key skills requirement

* Windows Server 2008R2, DNS configuration, Windows 7,

* Active Directory Design, Active Directory Admin

* General Networking (LAN/WAN), Working with Exchange 2010, VMWare ESX Server

* Demonstrates expert knowledge of Messaging Gateway software products, appliances and complementary technology providing message routing, content checking, anti spam, antivirus and associated services such as Nexor Mailer, Isode M-Switch, Blackberry, Boldon James.
