We’ve already transformed our organisation, putting the public and best practice at the heart of everything we do. The work continues as CQC is undergoing a significant digital transformation. The Digital directorate, headed by Pete Sinden, Chief Digital Officer, will be overseeing delivery of our information management and technology strategy, setting out to overhaul our systems over the next few years. We are looking to strengthen our Digital function to deliver on our business priorities. Our core methodology and delivery approach will shift from a waterfall to an agile method.
About the role
This is a new key role created as part of our Digital transformational programme. As a member of CQC’s Digital Senior Leadership Team, you will be responsible for the operational oversight of all technology and information services on which CQC relies, ensuring a highly resilient, reliable and compliant service is in place. With responsibility for all of our critical systems you will drive and bring significant change in the end-user experience, implementing cloud based business systems, conveying rapid delivery and moving towards infrastructure as a service to enable rapid agile delivery.
With experience in transforming operational services, you will have a clear understanding of information governance in a public sector / health organisation, with abilities to manage up to ensure compliance across an organisation. You will also have an in-depth understanding of Service Management Framework principles and processes (ITIL). You will be skilled at working with Commercial teams and other Heads of to ensure effective management and delivery of technology services through both insourcing and outsourcing routes. Your ability to manage a cloud infrastructure as a service and platform will allow you to maximise flexibility and value for money.
This is an exciting senior role requiring someone with strong governance and leadership abilities to drive forward our infrastructure transformation. Excellent relationship, influencing and communication skills coupled with the ability to work at pace are a must to ensure the success of CQC’s rapid agile programme of delivery.
The successful applicant should expect to undertake weekly travel to CQC offices as a requirement of the role is to be mobile and visible.
