Job Title: IT Project Manager

Salary: £26,822 - £33,473

Based: Lowestoft, Suffolk

Position: 12 month Fixed Term Contract, Full Time - 37 hours per week

Closing Date: Monday 12thFebruary 2018, 13:00

Fixed term for 12 months. This post will involve spending significant time at partner offices in Thetford and Bury St Edmunds as well as their offices in Lowestoft and Woodbridge.

Would you like to be at the heart of a unique project that is one of the first of its kind?

Two East Suffolk Councils are in the process of combining to create the largest District Council in the country. In parallel, there are two other councils who are also embarking on a similar programme with similar timescales to create a new Council for West Suffolk. All four Councils are currently partners - from a Revenues and Benefits perspective, and will require delivery of a merged Revenues & Benefits system for the new Councils to operate.

This presents a truly unique opportunity to provide vital project management services to enable the delivery of the merged Revenues and Benefits system.

Your role will include the management of an integration project covering both merging councils, and require close working with all key partner organisations and system suppliers on the integrations of the existing revenues and benefits systems. You will be responsible for defining project scope and deliverables, coordinating resources working on the project, identifying, managing and escalating risks and reporting on progress.

So, what are they looking for?

You will have experience of delivering high profile projects, particularly those that include IT as part of the solution. Experience with the implementation / migration of IT systems would be beneficial, as well as excellent interpersonal and IT skills and the ability to effectively motivate a project team. You will need to be highly organised with excellent critical analysis skills and the vision and ability to help transform the way we work.

In return, the councils can offer this great opportunity to be part of a high profile programme delivering a first within the Local Government arena. There is also a superb benefits package including flexible working options and purpose built brand new office accommodation, as well as a generous leave entitlement, discount scheme, pension scheme and free car parking.

Please read the job description and person specification before applying for this job.
