Rare an exciting opportunity on offer for a rotating equipment engineer who is looking for a varied and autonomous role where, you will have the opportunity to progress your career.

Do you have mechanical design experience including specification of multistage centrifugal pumps? Do you have knowledge of the following legislations: DSEAR (ATEX), PER (PED), Machinery directive and PUWER? Do you have experience of mechanical design and installation in a hazardous environment?

This market leading company provide services to several military facilities and some of the main airports within the UK. They are currently undergoing a modernisation programme of the infrastructure with the aim of improving efficiency, safety and reducing cost. They are the main pipeline and storage facility within the country and represent 50% of the British pipeline network and have around 16 storage facilities. They supply around 35% of the demand for aviation fuel for the main airports within the UK. Due to their expanding needs they are looking for a rotating equipment engineer to join their team.

You will be technically responsible for all rotating equipment scope, primarily pumps. You will be accountable for ensuring the application of appropriate engineering codes and standards and you will need to manage any deviations away from these standards. You will also prepare cost estimates and business case proposals for pump CAPEX. You will be managing vendors and tenders including responding to the vendor clarifications and technical enquiries. As part of the role you will work to standards, procedures and work instructions for safety critical tasks in order to meet COMAH requirements.

This role would therefore suit a candidate who has significant mechanical design experience with site commissioning and troubleshooting experience. You will also have working knowledge of current legislations relating to the industry such as DSEAR (ATEX), PER (PED), Machinery directive and PUWER.

The Person:

* Mechanical design experience including centrifugal pumps

* Site commissioning and troubleshooting experience

* Working knowledge of codes such as API, EEMUA and ASME

* Design and installation experience in hazardous areas
