The Shared Digital service are looking for an experienced Developer working on key development activities within a large agile portfolio. You will be following and contributing to development practices within the authority and to work closely with the development lead and peers to ensure best practice and quality is built into the everyday development team function.
Your role will include collaborating with other software developers, business analysts, software architects and development leads to plan, design, develop, test, and maintain Shared Digital Account solutions.
You will assist in the collection and documentation of user's requirements, development of user stories and estimates. Design, develop, and unit test applications in accordance with established standards.
Other key area include participating in peer-reviews of solution designs and related code, to analyse and resolve technical and application problems and assess opportunities for application and process improvement and prepare documentation of rationale to share with team members and other affected parties.
To succeed in this role you’ll probably have experience as a professional Software developer; with the ability to think creatively, work under pressure and demonstrate strong analytical skills with excellent attention to detail whilst working in a team environment.
For the Software Developer role, we are looking for:
• Ideally 2-5 years of relevant experience as a Software Developer.
• Experience in developing enterprise service oriented systems, with exposure to ESB, integration and front-end technologies.
• Experience of advanced coding techniques, using enterprise Java.
• Experience or knowledge of working in an Agile environment ideally Scrum, knowledge of TDD, automation and continuous integration.
• Experience working with Open Source technologies including RedHat Fuse would be beneficial.
• Experience of contributing to software design, implementation, mentoring and pairing with less other engineers.
