Unix/Linux Administrator

Location: Fleet

Rate: £300

Length: 12 months

A leading consultancy are looking to hire a Unix/Linux administrator to work on-site at a tier 1 bank. This is a 12 month contract position looking to pay £300 a day.

The successful candidate will be a member of the Infrastructure Team, and will have the primary focus to ensure the Middleware (JBOSS, Apache, & DevOps) based infrastructure is robust, resilient and compliant to PCI standards.

The individual will work with other members of the team to install, configure, maintain, support and optimise the middleware environments in both virtual and physical environments.

Essential experience

* Strong Unix / Linux administration skills in a predominantly Redhat, multiple tier, diverse site.

* Extensive experience with JBoss.

* Extensive experience in administering, configuring and tuning

* JBoss EAP / Tomcat

* Red Hat Satellite 5 & 6

* Puppet

* Git & Jenkins

* Apache

* Strong scripting and programming using

* Perl

* Shell

* Extensive knowledge of RHEL 4, 5, 6 & 7, TCP/IP, DNS n& related security technologies e.g. SELinux, host-based firewalls, attack surface area reduction, etc.

* Relevant industry understanding
