Junior/ Mid level DevOps Engineer, Linux

My client is a FTSE 50 company with a reputation of software innovation. You will be joining a team at the cutting edge of technology. They are in the "Billionaires club" in API calls along with Google Twitter and Facebook. They have more transactions per day than the entire European stock exchange. Because of the sheer scale they constantly update their tooling and even create their own tooling and publish this on open source.

In 2018 they are looking towards machine learning, self-healing and intelligent maintenance technology which you will be a very big part off

So they want a technologist - be they Linux Engineer or developer - who understands the relationship with between platform engineering and software development, and has the desire to want to solve the traditional conflict between the Java developer teams' desire to release software and the Linux Engineer teams' desire for their system not break.

Key focuses: For the Junior/ Mid level DevOps Engineer, Linux

- work with a team of SRE experts to architect, build and maintain a production support environment

- monitor systems performance and firefight downtime

- write software that ensure deployment is automatic, rather than "automated"

Key skills of the Junior/ Mid level DevOps Engineer, Linux/Java

- Linux system internals expertise

- development experience

- Aptitude for evaluating and embracing new technologies and tooling.

- In depth technical knowledge of one or more of Linux, Networking, Storage or Databases.

- Excellent scripting skills.
