Security Engineer - London, £55K

We are recruiting for a Security Engineer for a global FinTech based in London. The Security Engineer will join the existing Security team to implement new and supporting existing security technology and solutions. Providing operational security investigation, analysis and status reporting as well as the definition and maintenance of security controls, policy and procedures.

Responsibilities of the Security Engineer:

* Builds a data pipeline that cleans, transforms, and aggregates unorganized and messy data into databases or data sources.

* Implement new security tools, technology and initiatives, undertaking project work as requested

* Installation, configuration, upgrade and management of security technology.

* Day to day maintenance, support, operation and troubleshooting of security technology in conjunction with other teams in IT

* Day to day security operations of the global IT estate; monitoring, vulnerability assessment, scanning, compliance checking, controls validation

* Definition, collation, automation, maintenance and reporting of security information, metrics and security status

* Monitoring and analyses of networks, systems, devices and logs for security events, anomalies and information

* Investigation and resolution of potential security incidents

* Define, document, maintain and implement security baselines, standards, policy and procedures in conjunction with relevant IT teams

Skill set and Background required for the Security Engineer:

* Vulnerability assessment, security log and event analysis, security metrics

* Relevant Operational IT Security knowledge and experience

* strong networking skills and knowledge

* Windows and Linux experience and proficiency

* Security baselines / hardening

* Scripting & automation

Desirable

* Security Qualifications (e.e. CISSP)

* Web Application Security Assessment / Penetration Testing

* IPS & Firewalls

The Security Engineer role is based in London.

The Security Engnieer role will pay a salary of £40,000-£55,000 + Benefits. Salary is dependent on experience and background.
