PHP WordPress Developer - Leeds - £35,000 - Flexible Working, Sociable Environment, Progression opportunities…

My client creates websites with cutting edge designs and functionality using OOP PHP and WordPress templates/plug-ins. They work with a range of clients and have provided services to some of the biggest companies across the globe.

They are looking for a flexible and versatile PHP Developer with sound WordPress skills to join their growing team: a natural problem solver who wants to make a difference every time they step into the office. This is a mid-weight position but the client are also flexible for the right candidate.

You will be an all-round experienced coder and be able to jump in with object oriented PHP. Ideally, but not essentially, you will be exposed to components of server management tool work as well. You will be comfortable using and developing custom plug-ins and templates with WordPress or a similar CMS.

You must:

*Code in PHP OOP, MySQL, Javascript, jQuery, CSS

*Write clean, efficient and readable code

*Have demonstrable experience in WordPress development or similar CMS

*Write efficient MySQL queries without the support of frameworks or CMS

*Have used version control software such as Git

*Have experience with Linux/Unix command line environment

*Have integrated with third party APIs such as Salesforce, CiviCRM, ThankQ

*Keep up with the progress of PHP and other web technologies

*Be passionate about coding quality and meeting standards

*Be able to communicate technical aspects to non-technical people

*Be able to write functional specifications

*Be considerate of time and budget allocations

It would be an advantage to also:

*Knowledge of UX Design

*Have knowledge of concepts used in PHP frameworks (such as Symfony, Zend, etc) and MVC, database abstraction layers etc.

*Be able to manage servers including Ansible or Nginx
