Public Sector - Technical Architect (SC Cleared)

Our public sector client based in London is migrating from a VMWare based environment to AWS. This role requires extensive knowledge of both types of environment ensuring the migration optimises the services offered by AWS whilst minimising lock-in, in parallel with improving the architecture to enable resilience, rapid scaling, and ease of maintenance and change.

Key Skills/ Experience

* strong systems development and architecture experience in diverse cloud environments, with good knowledge of open source technologies and testing

* experience of modern infrastructures such as cloud native infrastructure, virtualisation technologies and virtual networking

* experience of configuration management tools like puppet, ansible or chef

* experience of operating a service, including monitoring, diagnosis and incident resolution

* experience designing and implementing secure systems and a good understanding or experience of implementation and running of a PKI

* experience scaling online services

* ability to develop solution design documentation that is reusable and comprehensible for technical teams

* understanding of how to prioritise work in a fast, customer centric, environment

* understanding of agile environments, continual delivery techniques and devops cultures

* understanding of how to influence senior management and communicate with both technical and non-technical audiences

* an awareness of how to budget in an on-demand environment and an understanding of legal implications
