Job title: Hardware Infrastructure Engineer

Location: Broad Oak, Portsmouth or New Malden

Salary: Up to £51,000 depending on qualifications & experience

What you'll be doing:

  • Generation of design, test and installation documentation
  • Design proving, including environmental and Electro Magnetic Compatibility aspects
  • Investigation and resolution of design issues
  • Design and build of the electrical and hardware system to achieve successful acceptance (FAT(E))
  • Support to development systems
  • Successful installation and setting to work of hardware on ship
  • Understanding of Configuration Control and baselines
  • Use of Visio for Hardware design

Your skills and experiences:

Essential:

  • An Engineer with experience in a hardware domain
  • Knowledge and experience in COTS hardware
  • A can-do, enthusiastic attitude and enquiring mind, with a flexible approach and openness to involvement in all aspects of the team's work

Desirable:

  • Experience with COTS cabinets, cabinet designs, wiring schedules, power distribution would be especially desirable
  • Experience working with the Defence sector

Engineers at all levels should possess an academic qualification in Engineering or other related STEM subjects as well as specific (either academic or professional) qualifications and become recognised as Incorporated or Chartered Engineers through an appropriate recognised professional institution. Engineers are encouraged, and will be supported, to achieve the relevant accreditation. Preference will be given to candidates who are already professionally registered.

The Hardware Product Team:

Within this role you will cover a number of facets including design of SI Systems, testing and issue resolution. You will have the opportunity to work in different business units for a large global company with support towards career progression.
