Job title: Engineer - Support Engineering (Disposal)

Salary: Negotiable dependant on experience

What you'll be doing:

  • Support of Disposal management requirements tailored to the needs of the project
  • Support Disposal Management Plans and input to the Project Management Plan
  • Support the processes and mechanisms to record and manage hazardous material risks and issues, the design change process and the subsequent documentation that is generated
  • Hazardous Material data, information and reporting to support project and business reviews
  • Review and monitoring of supplier deliverables as appropriate
  • Liaison with internal and external stakeholders and the wider engineering teams, to gain a broad understanding of project management and business processes

Your skills and experiences:

Essential:

  • Familiarity of chemicals and the ability to work around toolsets
  • Awareness of Product Safety, SHE and Hazardous
  • Knowledge or recognition of relevant legislation and engineering standards

Desirable:

  • Experience using SAP
  • Familiarity with legislation such as Ship Safety regulations and Waste regulations

The Disposal Support Engineering Team:

The Disposal Engineer will be responsible for the day-to-day capture of hazardous material data, amending documentation and supporting the appropriate reporting in order to minimise the risks posed to programmes. This is an exciting opportunity to join a team of three with potential growth in the future. This role offers a wide range of exposure to different teams across the Barrow site as well as as the ability to gain experience working across two programmes: SSNA and Dreadnought. You will get to know how the boat works and exposure to what really goes into the boat from a materials point of view.
