About the role

This role plays an integral part in delivery of the organisation's data strategy and the development of data-driven solutions.

  • The key role assists in the development and implementation of data-driven solutions.
  • You will collect, process and analyse large and complex data sets from a variety of sources, including assessment and publishing data.
  • Work collaboratively with stakeholders in the translation of business problems into data science projects.
  • Create optimal designs, prepare, and manipulate data and perform analytics, to understand and be able to implement a range of data science techniques.
  • Ensure the data capability is fit for purpose to support the organisation goals.

 

About you

You will have relevant STEM related BSc degree or equivalent qualification, or other evidence of equivalent knowledge.

Professional or research experience in some of the following:

  • ML/NLP tools like PyTorch, Scikit-learn, Transformer architecture and Neural Networks.
  • Coding and software engineering in mainstream programming languages, such as Python.
  • Statistical packages for data manipulation and in development of predictive and prescriptive models (e.g. R, SAS).
  • Exploratory data analysis and manipulation of large datasets using e.g. SQL and Spark
  • Data cleansing, Data visualisation
  • Application of Generative AI and large language models

 

Have strong analytical, problem solving and critical thinking skills. Be a natural self-starter, confident at networking with cross functional teams. Using working knowledge of standard data science and machine learning methods, techniques, best practices and technology, through guidance in practical application.
