WHAT TO EXPECT


In this role you will lead engineering design and development of components & sub-systems which manage the gas-path delivery for hybrid powertrains. 

This will involve working collaboratively with subject matter experts, suppliers and manufacturing amongst others, to deliver the customer requirements at a vehicle level. 

As we adopt Agile principles - this role will transition into Gas-path system product owner with specific focus on Range Rover carlines. JLR has state of the art testing facilities, materials and metrology laboratories that you will leverage to develop the systems you work on.


Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities


    Working with project engineers, CAD engineers, suppliers, manufacturing, STA, technical specialists etc to design and release exhaust systems and other powertrain system components to meet program timing, cost, attribute and legislative requirements. 

    Delivery of systems to target, to gateway requirement on time, on cost & quality.
    Mentoring of junior members of the team 

WHAT YOU’LL NEED 


Knowledge, Skills and Experience


    Strong knowledge of system definition, system architecture development, requirements specification, design/performance modelling, systems integration, system assessment and acceptance
    Experience of working for another OEM or supplier to the automotive trade.
    Ability to work autonomously with minimal guidance across a range of stakeholders.
    Experience of working in a Systems Engineering environment
    Relevant degree or equivalent experience preferred.
    Requirements management
    Analytical and problem-solving skills
    Full Driving Licence 
    Ideally will have Powertrain systems or powertrain experience.
    Supplier Management experience.
    Hybrid (PHEV, FCEV) vehicle development experience with a strong understanding of emissions legislations exhaust systems
    Experience in reporting to senior leadership group.
    Working in an Agile or Scrum methodology
