Interview date: w/c 7 Nov 2022 About the role: Horsham District Council is looking for a Developer to join our Technology Services team, supporting the technology requirements across the Council providing a technical, professional and customer focused service. The role will suit someone who has previous analytical experience along with a development and support background. As a Developer you will work with colleagues to deliver digital solutions on our chosen platforms.  This will include the design and build of business processes and online forms to deliver a consistent and excellent user experience, the support and maintenance of existing in-house and supplier systems and the implementation of integrations between applications along with general database administration.  You will also advise colleagues on how processes can be optimised using digital technology and assist in the migration of systems to new solutions, working closely with external suppliers. To succeed in this role, you will have experience in a similar Developer/Application Support role, dealing with a broad range of business applications, online forms development and integrating systems using APIs and SFTP.  General experience of database administration (ideally SQL Server), understanding Cloud based infrastructure and applications, including Software as a Service application, together with the ability to keep pace with changes in technology will be important. Horsham District Council encourages and supports their employees to have a healthy work life balance by supporting their professional development as well as offering 27 days' (199.8 hours) annual leave plus bank holidays (pro-rata), a generous benefits package and an online platform offering discounts from online retailers. Staff are eligible to join a contributory pension scheme where the Council contributes circa 20% of pensionable salary. The Council also provides reimbursement for professional subscriptions and access to a car lease scheme. Most of our office-based roles have the potential for hybrid working, we are currently trialling a 50/50 home/office working model, subject to review. If you would like to apply for the role, please visit our website by clicking the APPLY button. We highly recommend you show clearly within the ‘Experience Section' of the application form how you meet the essential criteria detailed within the Role Profile when applying. If you do not make this clear, it is unlikely you will be shortlisted for interview.
