A new opportunity for a Director of Engineering or for an experienced Analog/Mixed Signal IC Design lead or manager to move into a Director role managing and grow an engineering team consisting of Analog, Digital and Layout engineers focused on developing power solutions for the next era of consumer products.

In this role you will be responsible for the technology strategy, customer alignment and product development execution, focusing on high value power solutions for display technology, imaging, battery management and fast charging.  You will be leading the IC development activities from inception to customer award and release including Mixed Signal IC design, test, verification and qualification. You will be responsible for developing a technology and business strategy to ensure rapid growth and market share gain, ensuring a long-term leadership position in key technology areas, working with strategic customers. 

As the leader for high volume custom power IC developments, you will also manage and provide support to other business units working in collaboration on custom IC developments. You will be working alongside marketing, applications and sales teams to manage custom activities, engaging with the custom silicon teams and customers. This will involve management and coordination of active development programs in addition to identification of new opportunities.

Responsibilities include:

• Develop and implement strategy for custom silicon power solutions
• Lead a multi-disciplined technology development team
• Maintain and grow the market through identification of new areas of innovation related to high performance integrated power
• Grow the company’s leading technical and quality position within the existing customer base
• Work with the sales team, manage customer engagements in support of new business developments and opportunities
• Ensure highly efficient execution aligned to critical customer deadlines
• Develop processes and metrics which promote high levels of multisite collaboration and increased engineering efficiency
• Development of strategic business and resource planning including management and coordination of operating and capital expenditure budgets

Industry degree qualified the successful applicant will have a minimum of 10+ years of related experience in Analog/Mixed Signal IC Design including circa 5 years in customer facing roles along with leadership experience in the development of functionally complex Mixed Signal ICs ideally for PMIC/power solutions with experience in SMPS and buck boost. Experience is also required in leading highly focused IC development teams, from product concept to release and proven on-time delivery.  

Experience in leading product strategy and execution in the consumer markets is required along with experience in designing consumer focused power solutions using low geometry process technology. You will have the ability to articulate strategy and vision, be well versed in presenting to executive stakeholders and demonstrate business innovation with a view to enabling new customer and application engagements.
