Cloud Engineer - Permanent - Glasgow I am working with a STEM client currently looking to expand their IT team in Glasgow. They are currently looking to hire a Cloud Engineer who will join a small, close knit team working on a Greenfield project.The Cloud Engineer owns the planning, installation, maintenance and acceptance of new and updated cloud infrastructure components and services through to decommissioning. The role aligns service expectations, security requirements and other quality standards, ensuring that operational procedures and documentation are fit for purpose and kept up to date and that operational issues are identified, recorded, monitored, resolved and reported upon.This role will be a hybrid position with an office visit one a fortnight required. Skills, Knowledge & Experience:Experience in automation tooling such as Terraform, CHEF, Puppet etc.Strong scripting skill set, with a working knowledge of one or more high-level programming languagesStrong system administration (Linux/Unix, Windows, SQL)In depth understanding of cloud security best practices.Transformation of legacy on prem service to cloud services PAAS, SAAS, IAAS, including container services, Kubernetes, Docker etc.Extensive experience with templates and other configurable items to enable automation.Experience of Devops CICD pipelinesExperienced in monitoring techniques in a dynamic environment.Design of self-healing and fault-tolerant services.Experienced with Infrastructure as Code: design and security, configuration management, integration, deployment, performance monitoring and tuning, automation of infrastructure.Personal Attributes:Ability to exercise independent judgement and take action on it.Excellent analytical, mathematical, and creative problem-solving skills.Excellent listening, interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills.
