CONTRACT ROLE HYBRID WORKING FLEXIBLE RATES!!!Job DescriptionThis is a highly diverse role; you could be working on a small project with one stakeholder or a large project with many stakeholders within multiple departments within the business. Our Systems Engineers need to have excellent core skills but remain adaptable to the challenge of learning new skills and cross skilling other members of the team. The primary focus of the role is not only to ensure the resolution of 3rd line issues, that have been not been resolved by the 1st and 2nd line support team, but also to determine why the problems have arisen in the first place and to make recommendations of how these can be avoided on future occasions.ResponsibilitiesIn this role you will be providing the business primarily with stability and efficient operation of all systems that support the core IT system with a persuasion to network technologies by monitoring, maintaining, supporting and optimising. You will be providing the full-service lifecycle, change, requirements, design, implementation and the ongoing support of a multitude of technical systems and services.

Role & ResponsibilitiesMaintaining and administering computer networks and related computing environments including systems software, applications software, hardware, and configurations.Performing disaster recovery operations and data backups when required.Protecting data, software, and hardware by coordinating, planning and implementing network security measures.Troubleshooting, diagnosing and resolving hardware, software, and other network and system problems.Replacing faulty network hardware components when required.Monitoring network performance to determine if adjustments need to be made.Conferring with network users about solving existing system problems.Operating master consoles to monitor the performance of networks and computer systems.Coordinating computer network access and use.Designing, configuring and testing networking software, computer hardware, and operating system software.Advise on Wi-Fi design and be responsible for the implementation of the Wi-Fi solution.To carry out routine preventive maintenance and service analysis on systems to provide uninterrupted service to users.Support users in the use of computer equipment by providing necessary training and advice.Development and promotion of continual improvements in the Safety, Health and Environmental culture.

Skills & Qualifications Excellent understanding of network technologies, switching, routing, VLANs, 802.1x, VPNs, remote access, firewalls, Wi-Fi in both a LAN and WAN setup.Experience supporting Cisco Meraki in a multi geographical organisation.Excellent understanding of core Microsoft Windows Server and standard workloads such as Active Directory, File and print management technologiesExperience designing/administering and supporting cloud technologies Microsoft 365, Azure, AWS and Google in an enterprise environment.Clear understanding of information security especially implementation.
