We are looking for a Programme Manager to join our forward-thinking Technology Delivery team here at Kingfisher. The purpose of the Programme Manager role is to lead major delivery. The Programme Manager is accountable for creation and management of end to end delivery functions (comprising numerous teams) and for the creation, maintenance and decommissioning of IT products as part of wider business change initiatives.

Management of 3rd party and Group Tech development partners

Planning / managing appropriate resources and suppliers for the planned deliveries

Leading a matrix-based resource model, working with resource and capability leads to understand the resource plans aligned to the forward delivery plan/ roadmaps

Liaise with the Architect team to ensure that the IT applications and supporting infrastructure fully support the business requirements

Close liaison with the Portfolio team to effectively plan new demand, understand priority changes and report progress on delivery

Dependency management within their teams and across the wider portfolio

Management of several senior internal and external stakeholders

Accountable for the successful delivery of all Features, Products, Projects and Programmes within their remit

Ensure projects are set up for success, resourced appropriately and delivered on time, to budget and at the appropriate level of quality

Act as escalation point for project or programme risks and issues. Where these threaten to derail a project, take ownership and ensure all possible steps to put the project back on track are taken

Strong leadership of project teams

What are we looking for:

Building, leading and motivating teams and has experience of building sustainable digital and IT delivery capability with appropriate skills and sourcing models

Has experience of leading large change programmes

Can effectively manage senior stakeholders up to Board level in a large, fast-paced retail business

Understands the full Software Development Lifecycle

Has experience across the full stack of Retail IT

Knows Waterfall, Scrum, XP and Kanban methodologies and appropriate project governance and can accurately assess which project methodology should be used when mobilising a new project

Skilled at budget planning & on-going management of financial forecasts

Can lead in a matrix resource model, where the team is focussed on clear delivery objectives
