Head of Procurement - Designate

Responsibilities:

* Collaborate with key stakeholders to ensure compliance with the procurement, legal and
* finance process.
* Reviewing and improving existing policies and procedures of the procurement function
* Take ownership of procurement policy and guidelines
* Engage with corporate stakeholders to influence critical supplier relationships to maximise
* commercial leverage
* Maintain the procurement function ensuring delivery to SLA, ensuring continued "buy-in" to
* the procurement function by the business
* Collaborate closely with the Clients procurement team in the USA to identify global
* procurement opportunities
* Develop team expertise within the relevant categories
* Enable the business to improve decision making through the provision and interpretation of
* accurate, timely and relevant management information
* Lead the process for engagement with external service providers
* Deliver best in class negotiation techniques to maximise financial benefits return for the
* budget holders
* Work very closely with the legal team ensuring contracts drive supplier engagement,
* contain appropriate deliverables and measures of success
* Drive the procurement activity with the ESG programme and ensuring supplier buy- in to the
* Clients Supplier Code of Conduct
* Seek out cost reduction opportunities within the external expense budgets
* Work closely with finance team assisting with budget forecasting
* Hold regular meetings with major supplier account managers

Qualification/Experience:

* Ten years procurement experience covering a wide range of categories
* Proven ability to negotiate multi-million pound contracts
* Ability to influence senior stakeholders at board level
* Proven expertise in the construct and the negotiation of commercial contracts
* In-depth experience of various IT software license types
* Have led the commercial elements in outsourcing of major functions
* Proven experience of running major RFPs and producing scoring matrices
* Excellent communication skills
* Insurance Sector only
* Preferably a Fellow or Member of The Chartered Institute of Procurement & Supply (CIPS)
* Strong analytical skills
