Our Digital Data and Technology (DDaT) division designs and builds critical Home Office systems and services. These help people apply for visas or passports; support policing and counter-terrorism operations; and protect the UK's borders. As a Technology Delivery Manager, you'll turn great ideas into workable delivery plans and see them through to completion. Your challenge is to deliver exceptional public services that work for everyone. The role Expect to work in close partnership with Product Managers and a variety of stakeholders, translating the product vision into technical concepts, then leading your team in delivering them to agreed timescales and quality standards. We'll look to you to select and apply appropriate delivery techniques to get the best out of your team. Along the way, you'll manage risks, dependencies and other issues that arise.You will work with colleagues in Home Office Commercial when contracts need organising and negotiating. You may be required to facilitate governance meetings and mechanisms. You will also share knowledge and best practice with your team. About you You'll have sound experience of technology delivery and technical practices, which could have been gained in a start-up, a large corporate firm or the wider Civil Service. We're looking for people with a willingness to learn, to challenge conventional thinking, and to continually push the boundaries. You'll have well-developed people skills to set individuals up for success and to create an effective team environment. You will also understand how to use metrics to identify, understand, and improve team delivery performance. The ability to manage budgets and commercial supplier relationships is also essential.
