Working closely with the architecture team, this role is responsible for the design, management and maintenance of systems in line with defined operational standards, kpi's and certifications, (such as Cyber essentials Plus, ISO 27001 and Data Security and Protection toolkit). The Security Architect will also develop the service through continuous improvement, striving to improve quality and service levels in line with organisational requirements.Client DetailsNHS Resolution is an arm's-length body of the Department of Health and Social Care. We are currently going through an exciting IT transformation led by the organisation's Chief Information Officer. The Digital, Data and Technology Directorate, (DDaT) is an exciting high performing function with a challenging programme of work and a department structure aimed at progression, development and high operational and strategic outputs. As a result we are looking for talented DDaT professionals to join us on this journey.DescriptionThe Security Architect will be responsible for the design, management and maintenance of systems in line with defined operational standards, key performance indicators and certifications, (such as Cyber essentials Plus, ISO 27001 and Data Security and Protection toolkit).The Security Architect will also develop the service through continuous improvement, striving to improve quality and service levels in line with organisational requirements.Effective communication, this role is key to the architecture team and the security architect will be expected to attend project and technical meetings and must be comfortable expressing and describing highly complex technical information to internal and external stakeholders.Undertake the analysis, interpretation and comparison of highly complex problems in cyber security across a wide range of technological projects and infrastructures.Ensure any system changes are planned and controlled effectively so as not to compromise the stability of any IT systems or NHS Resolution business processes.Assimilate complex data, compare facts and analyse situations from a range of sources, develop options and assess risk and opportunities for Cyber Security improvement.Create reports that will allow evaluation of Cyber Security improvement options.Assist the Lead Architect on technical aspects of ongoing and future IT developments Contribute to the development of NHS Resolution IT strategy.Responsible for developing and implementing a Cyber Security strategy including change control, Root Cause Analysis and error management Research and develop the IT Infrastructure in line with industry best practiceProfileEducation & QualificationsComputer science/information management and technology degree at Masters level, or equivalent relevant, experience, knowledge and expertise.Microsoft Certified Engineer or equivalent.Extensive cloud experience Management qualification or significant relevant experience.Project management qualification (e.g. PRINCE 2) CISMP qualified, or equivalent Information Security qualification ITIL Certified or equivalent Understanding of ISO27001Skills & AbilitiesAbility to articulate, influence, persuade and motivate on service developments and best practice as subject matter expert.Ability to analyse, diagnose, design, plan, evaluate and implement service and project deliverables.Ability to build, develop and form good working relationships, working flexibly and across professional and operational boundaries.Ability to have a logical and thorough approach to complex problem solving.Solutions-focused attitude to technical and cyber security challenges.Excellent customer service and compliant resolution skills.Ability to work supportively as part of a team.ExperienceExperience of implementing inter-connected projects and previous experience of leading and developing cyber initiatives previously.Knowledge & UnderstandingA wide degree of creativity and technical knowledge and understanding of current IT inclusive of Local and Wide Area Network principles and associated security.Detailed knowledge and understanding of database and information system architecture.Detailed knowledge and understanding of Microsoft Project, Visio, Virtualisation (HyperV and VMware) technologies.Detailed knowledge of Cloud based technologiesDetailed knowledge of security, governance, implementation for both on premise & cloud based technologiesDetailed knowledge of Active DirectoryJob OfferFlexible working with commitment to travel to London or Leeds a minimum 1 day per week / 4 days per monthSalary of £53,168-£62,001 (plus London Weighting of £6890)NHS pensionsFlexible workingHealth and Social Security Recreational Association (HASSRA)Season ticket loan schemeEye care vouchers for SpecSavers24 hours employee assistance programme from Health Assured (EAP)Health service discountsCycle to work schemeApplications: To apply for this position, please submit your CV ensuring details of where you meet the essential criteria required for the role are clearly demonstrated.
