Premier Group are currently engaged with a large established client in the Leicester area, who require an Infrastructure Engineer to join an existing team of highly skilled, talented engineers who have a passion to innovate using the latest technologies whilst learning and sharing knowledge amongst the team.
The successful Infrastructure Engineer will be experienced across a mixture of operational and development activities supporting the eCommerce environment both in the cloud and on-premise, with an occasional requirement to work in and around other UK based sites. The successful candidate will
Due to the nature of the business, the successful Infrastructure Engineer will work on a rota basis on a mixture of early and late shifts of either 7-3 or 10-6.
Infrastructure Engineer - Essential Skills:
IT experience working in a large corporate environmentFlexibility to cover unsociable hours and peak periods at short noticeStrong knowledge of scripting and automation (PowerShell, Bash and others)Proven knowledge and use of the following technologies: -Windows 2008(R2)/2012/2016/2019 Server in both physical and virtual environmentsVirtualisation (VMware & Hyper-V)IISMicrosoft failover clusteringMonitoring business critical environmentsSystem Centre Configuration Manager (SCCM)A good knowledge of network technologies and protocols such as DNS, DHCP, TCP/IP, FTP and SMTPExperience mentoring less experienced colleagues/team membersExperienced taking a lead role in co-ordinating the timely diagnosis and resolution of major issuesStrong knowledge of storage solutions and principles
Infrastructure Engineer - Desirables:
Experience working within an eCommerce infrastructure backgroundSolid understanding of Linux to support business critical systemsExperience using load balancers such as NetScaler and NginxExperience with hardware from different vendorsExperience in a 24x7 businessExperience with Azure infrastructure e.g., Azure DevOps, Key Vault, Container registryExperience with TerraformExperience with Azure Kubernetes service
