A passionate SaaS business which specialise in providing bespoke solutions to the educational sector, have a great opportunity for an ambitious Mid-Level and Senior PHP Developer to join their team on a permanent basis. The role will be based at their site in the city centre of Manchester, 2-3 days a week on-site post-pandemic, with flexible working hours provided. The successful PHP Developer will be working on two of their internal products: the re-write of a legacy platform to migrate and upgrade their software with a modernised feel and improve the functionality, and a brand new piece of software written from scratch so supporting the project throughout the whole development life cycle is essential. The PHP Developer will also be working on scalable applications, and have the opportunity to work on a range of new technologies, such as, GoLang and Node.js, which are becoming increasingly popular. The PHP Developer is encouraged to be proactive when it comes to best practices and will be required to work independently and as part of the wider delivery team.

Essential Skills:

  • 3+ years commercial experience
  • Proficient with OOP
  • Experience with PHP and MVC knowledge, Symfony (beneficial), Laravel/Zend/CodeIgniter MVC skills will be considered
  • Experience working on large scale applications
  • Working in an agile environment, and working with the overseas teams
  • Strong database knowledge with MySQL
  • Testing to multiple levels, PHPunit experience
  • Working in a LAMP stack
  • Working with RESTful API’s and 3rd party integrations
  • Great communication skills
