The Role

To help us reach our strategic ambitions, Astrea Academy Trust is now seeking a Director of Technology and Architecture to join our team to oversee the success of our IT landscape throughout Academies, our central team and beyond.

Our Director of Technology and Architecture will be responsible for the transformation and delivery of all ICT, business technology and digital services, systems, and infrastructure throughout the organisation to enable delivery of our vision, values, and strategic objectives.

You will be the technical lead for developing professional standards, SLAs, KPIs and SOPs for all technology services, alongside analysing business requirements for all Academies and departments across the Trust including, determining needs, procuring new technologies and maintaining the overall integrity of the IT landscape.

We are looking for individuals who have thrived in a similar senior IT leadership capacity, preferably in a multi-site organisation with proven experience in bringing together technology and digital resources to meet business needs in a complex operational environment.

Ensuring effective integration of new systems (evaluating them according to established strategic goals and objectives).

As technical lead for the profession, developing professional standards, SLAs, KPIS and SOPs for all technology services allied to best practice.

Managing the day-to-day provision of expert ICT advisory and support services to staff and end users across the Trust.

Working with colleagues within the profession to develop plans and strategies so that client services can be enhanced, user effectiveness improved, and innovation encouraged.

Effectively managing associated budgets, establishing appropriate expenditure reporting, and forecasting mechanisms and ensuring efficient contract management of all suppliers and partners.

Acting as a champion to use technology solutions to improve the outcomes and experiences for staff and learners within the trust.

Drive the harmonisation and renewal of hardware across the trust.

As part of Astrea Operational Leadership Team this role is jointly responsible for:

Developing strong and trusted partnerships across the organisation's leadership teams, acting as a subject matter expert to provide professional technical challenge, guidance, advice, and support to enable successful delivery of Trust objectives.

Collaborating and utilising key insight and data to drive action; remove barriers and deliver educational and people performance improvements.

Championing a performance and accountability culture ensuring decisions are taken at the appropriate level in the organisation; devising remedial actions for any identified issues and escalation to Executive Board (through TPR or other) is based on appropriate crisis / risk management or accountability hierarchy and governance protocols.

Developing greater understanding and utilisation of all services within the organisation; how they interact; are accessed and how impact / contribute to sustainable long-term educational performance.

Contributing to the development of the company's corporate strategy and the creation of sustainable short; medium and long-term business plans to ensure the attainment of goals and objectives set by Astrea Trustee Board.

Expanding Astrea community presence and public awareness of the organisation's mission and service.

Maintain and enhance the Trusts reputation through the appropriate use of communication, emotional intelligence, and support to academies
