Software Engineer specialising in Media Generation (Media generation tools/Python/Django) is required.
Monday to Friday, 37.5 hours per week - they encourage and support a healthy work /life balance.
Software Engineer specialising in media generation required for a global leading service provider based in central Bristol, offering home working where the role permits it. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a collaborative team who work on industry technology in the media industry and can offer long term career development opportunities.
To be considered for this role, you must be a Software Engineer with experience of working with and extending media tool chains utilising multimedia frameworks such as FFmpeg and GPAC. Candidates must have experience in a commercial or research (e.g. postgraduate) environment.
The successful candidate will be joining a team which creates new products and develops and maintains existing products which have media content as a key part of the solution. You will spend a portion of your time coding and generating media but will also be involved in specification analysis, software design, code review and documentation, therefore an analytical mind and approach is required.

The Role:
- Analyse specifications/standards to produce media content for device conformance
- Utilise, maintain and extend media tool chains using 3rd party components such as FFmepg
- Design, development and support of testing products
- Using languages/frameworks such as Python/Django/C++/JavaScript
- Representing the company in industry forums
The Person:
- Experience as a Software Engineer in a commercial or research (e.g. postgraduate) environment
- Experience and demonstrable skills with relevant tools and a high-level programming language (e.g. Python, C++) and an aptitude to learn and work with new languages / technologies
- Ideally have experience in the Broadcast Industry or a relevant adjacent industry
- A meticulous approach and a keen eye for detail
