These roles are responsible for production, planning and co-ordination of statistical outputs. They will require you to apply your analytical skills to provide effective quality assurance of statistical outputs, identifying and mitigating risks, and ensuring continuous development of the methods, sources, and production processes.
You will need excellent interpersonal and stakeholders' skills as you will be managing stakeholders involved in the production process as well as supporting or leading the dissemination and communication of statistics to internal and external customers.
Responsibilities
Managing statistical production processes through co-ordinating survey teams or statistical compilers to produce high-quality statistical outputs on time and in line with quality standards
Utilising a range of software packages and analytical techniques to analyse, interpret and explain data, identifying movements and trends and addressing issues in data processes, systems, and methods.
Developing the narrative underpinning statistical outputs, communicating the story clearly to a range of internal and external stakeholders using a variety of media
Working proactively with customers to identify their requirements, share knowledge and information
Planning the statistical production lifecycle, setting timetables and quality assurance processes, and ensuring teams are sufficiently resourced
Participating in and promoting a culture of curiosity and continuous improvement.
Essential Criteria:
Experience of managing statistical production processes and assuring the work of others to produce high-quality outputs on time and to expected quality standards
Proven analytical experience, including the practical application of a range of analytical tools and methods to identify information gaps and weaknesses, trends, and movements
Strong communication skills with experience of communicating complex information to technical and non-technical audiences; producing written materials, and articles explaining the narrative and context of statistics
Experience of planning and managing workstreams to tight deadlines
Ability to solve complex problems, thinking innovatively and utilising expertise to manage risks and issues
Experience of working with range of stakeholders, building positive collaborative working relationships.
