Working within the Core Infrastructure team and specialising in platform services, this role will play a critical role focusing on public cloud, identity management, certificate services, virtualisation and data centre operations. You will assist with the efficient and reliable use and re-use of the DVSA's core platform infrastructure.

Role Responsibilities include (but not limited to):

Building, configuring, administering and supporting DVSA's core infrastructure.

Assisting with operations and maintenance of core infrastructure services.

Delivering new and updated core infrastructure services.

Assisting with identifying and implementing functional, performance and quality improvements to the core infrastructure estate.

Ensuring proactive monitoring or supplier managed infrastructure is in place.

About You

To thrive in this role, you will possess a strong core cloud understanding, with experience in managing and monitoring an enterprise Windows Server environment. This will include working knowledge of data centre technologies, concepts, tools and practices.

You will be a confident communicator and love working as a team, efficient in resolving complex technical problems and translating data for both technical and non-technical audiences. We need someone with a good working knowledge of platform services such as Active directory, DNS, Group policy and DHCP. This will be married with a good understanding of incident, problem and change management.
