The trust are embarking on an unprecedented clinical transformation programme that will revolutionise the way in which they work.  They have partnered with a world-class medical software company to introduce Hive, a brand-new Electronic Patient Record (EPR) solution that will bring all patient information into one easily accessible place and make the services more effective than ever before.

The Role

As an Interface Graduate Technician, you'll develop, test and maintain Hive's interfaces, defining the way our staff will interact with our technology. This is a wide-ranging, role that draws on project management, technical skills, collaboration and analysis.

You'll be assigned specific interfaces to develop, which covers a variety of work including business analysis, system architecture design and quality assurance. As well as being the primary support contact for your area, you'll coordinate with other Hive teams to make sure everything being developed meets the expectations of our end users.

You'll also be able to make a big contribution to the continuous development of our services by researching new technologies, tools and standards and advising us on their potential uses.

As part of your EPR training, you'll also receive recognised qualifications in Epic, the software that Hive is based on.

Most importantly, we're looking for someone with the aptitude to learn and develop their skills and become an integral part of the Interface team, ensuring our clinical workforce can access the correct information to provide the highest level of care.

Skills and Experience required

We're looking for candidates with:

A degree in Computer Science or related subject (which includes modules in programming (object- oriented programming))

Work experience in the IT industry at a junior level or beyond, preferably within programming or systems analysis

Experience or an understanding of messaging systems, such as HL7 2.x and 3, FHIR or CDA messaging that can be applied to NHS workflows.

A strong interest, experience or familiarity with programming and the ability to write confidently in at least one language, but also develop systems integration (using Ensemble or Mirth). 

Knowledge of or experience in Microsoft SQL server or SQL related skills

Strong communication skills, collaborative skills and good organisation and project management
