Java Developer / Consultant London / WfH to £85k

Java Developer / Consultant *Remote Interview WfH*. Are you a senior Java Developer with client facing skills? You could be progressing your career in a lead role at a cutting edge tech consultancy that specialises in working with government departments such as the Home Office and working on a range of technical projects that impact the world we live in, helping protect the UK from terrorist threats.

As a Senior Java Developer / Consultant you'll work closely with clients to develop bespoke applications, producing clean and efficient code across the full development lifecycle; from partnering with the client to understand requirements through to solution delivery and implementation. You'll also design and deploy improvements and upgrades to existing applications ensuring they are well tested.

You will work with a range of technologies across the full tech stack, with a focus on backend Java but also with client side work using JavaScript and associated libraries such as React. You'll take a lead on projects, set the standards, drive best practice and help to mentor more junior developers.

There is currently a remote interview and onboarding process as well as the ability to work from home for the majority of the time; post Covid restrictions you'll be based on client site 1-2 days a week in London with the rest of the week working remotely.

Requirements:

You have strong core Java development experience, Groovy would also be great

You've lead projects within Agile teams (Scrum / Kanban), are collaborative and happy to provide technical leadership and mentoring

You have excellent communication skills and client facing ability

You have a good appreciation of frontend technologies such as JavaScript and associated libraries (e.g. React, Angular); HTML, CSS

You have experience across the full software development lifecycle

Ideally you will have experience with microservices using Docker or Kubernetes

You're quick to pick up new programming languages and technologies (you'll be working with a variety depending on the clients set-up)

You hold SC clearance or are able to achieve it (i.e. UK resident for 5 years plus, clean criminal record)
