Head of Engineering (Software / Data Engineering)

Remote - Occasional commute to Glasgow

This is an excellent opportunity for a hands on Engineering leader, from a Software / Data Engineering background, to take control of a quickly scaling AI led start up. They have just received their latest round of funding and want to continue scaling their platform and rapidly growing the company. They are looking for a Head of Engineering with a track record of leading teams and working in a start-up environment with a strong knowledge of Python being essential.

This company is a one of a kind and creates very important data insights which are used by some of the biggest firms across the globe. They have a hugely intriguing roadmap over the next 12 months. Your technical ability and management skills will grow massively as the platform continues to improve and the company becomes more and more established.

In this role you will lead the technical side of the business managing the engineering team and spending time working hands on enhancing the platform architecture and continuing to build the system and defining processes.

The ideal candidate will have expert knowledge using Python and proven experience leading teams. To have previously worked in a start-up environment is very desirable and the ability to scale a team quickly is also key.

The Role:

* Collaborate with the product team

* Take responsibility with the software development efforts

* Support the product roadmap

* Build strong relationships with external partners

* Mentor more junior engineers

* Be hands on with the platform architecture

* Confer on best practices with the COO

The Person:

* Experience managing multiple teams

* Strong experience working with Python

* Has worked previously in a start-up environment
