A fantastic opportunity to join one of the country's most digitally advanced NHS Trusts as a Desktop Team Manager.

BHFT (Berkshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust) is one of the few Mental Health Trusts in the country to be given Global Digital Exemplar status, meaning we are internationally recognised as delivering exceptional care, efficiently, through the use of world-class digital technology and information.

The Role

As IT Desktop Manager you will be responsible for the overall management and the professional development of the Desktop Team and Mobile Devices Team. This includes handling all management issues such as performance, escalation and disciplinary issues where appropriate.

Working closely with colleagues, you will help provide solutions, ensure processes are followed and keep informed of sector developments and issues, including virus threats, in order to inform the Senior Management team as appropriate.

Your team management responsibilities will include creating appropriate KPIs for the service and enabling the development of your team to achieve their individual targets, ensuring swift resolution of any day-to-day issues with desktops and laptops in the Trust.

You will also work with the clinical service managers as part of our virtual account management function, ensuring that IT is always included in planning discussion and that clinical requirements and services are understood.

About you

You will ideally already have senior management experience in an IT support environment and understand the challenges of providing diverse IT services within a multi-site organisation. You must also be able to demonstrate your understanding of desktop and server infrastructures.

In addition to your technical knowledge it is essential you can manage people and budgets, with experience of financial management and the interpretation of financial data.

The role will require you to travel to multiple sites and on occasions it will be likely that you will need to work outside of normal office hours.

This is a fantastic opportunity to join this forward thinking and technology savvy Trust and to be a part of our success.
