Information Security Engineer / Analyst - Birmingham - £45,000 - £55,000k + Benefits

Working for a leading organisation, we are seeking and aspiring Information Security Specialist to join a expanding team within my clients Solihull based office -this will be remote/home based for the foreseeable

Working as a key player alongside the Information Security Manager, you will support the business in providing hands on technical assistance and guidance in relation to Information Security related technologies including firewalls, Web Applications, Network, infrastructure IDS, IPS, SIEM, and Vulnerability assessment tools.

You will provide guidance alongside the operations team to ensure new IT implementations are secure by design and assess existing systems for venerability's and threat mitigation. Currently there are 25 different technology work streams and you will play a critical part in ensuring these are aligned to company wide Security Policy and best practice

To be successful in your application you will likely have come from a technical operational or development background and have moved into a more Information Security focus. We are flexible in the experience we require but a clear understanding of the below will benefitExtensive experience of working in IT, and have moved into information security and have a proven broad technology backgroundHigh Level experience in the belowSolid understanding of ISO 27001/27002, CE+ or equivalent as well as preference to having CEH, CISSP, Security+, GIAC or equivalent information security industry certificationsStrong knowledge of information security concepts and key principles, technical security tools, endpoint tools, AV, etc. and strong knowledge of firewalls, IDS, SIEM, vulnerability assessment and other toolsDetailed knowledge of the Microsoft Operating Systems and key application suites ·Detailed knowledge of TCP/IP, routing/switching, DNS, and other networking technologies and conceptsExperience of web and Applciation security.Positive and self-motivated with the ability to work under own initiativeExcellent stakeholder and relationship building experience - you will work with our customers, partners, business units, suppliers and internal teams to interpret information security policies, standards, contracts and assist with the implementation of these to the required specification.
