I'm recruiting a Database Administrator for a permanent role in Cardiff. Salary circa £36,000pa + benefits. My client's DBA teams primarily use Oracle and MySQL on Amazon Web Services, however they are open to seeing candidates from a SQL Server background with a willingness to learn and pick up new things quickly.You will be reporting in to the DBA team leader where you will be responsible for the management of my client's databases, which have in excess of 20 million hits per day. These include most European countries and the USA.Some responsibilities:-
· Proactively monitoring the systems for issues
· Managing the database backups and performing system recovery where required
· Support, patch, deploy and test database systems
· Query Optimisation
· Database architecture for dealing with vast amounts of dataRequirements:-
· 1+ year DBA experience
· RDBMS experience - SQL Server or Oracle (MySQL desirable, not essential)If you're interested please apply ASAP with your up to date CV
