The IT function consists of a team of thirteen. In addition to the Director of IT, the Development Team is comprised of six software developers, and a SQL Server DBA. Five people look after the port networks.
 
TECHNICAL ENVIRONMENT

 Microsoft SQL Server version 2008 migrating to 2016.Microsoft C# (Visual Studio) for client, system and mobile application development.Embarcadero Delphi for legacy applications.
 
THE ROLE
 Enhancing and maintaining the existing suite of bespoke applications.Providing IT software support to end users when sufficient business knowledge has been acquired.operationProviding support to the rest of the development team for an initial period until sufficient business knowledge and experience has been acquired.The role is an excellent opportunity to develop in MS SQL Server, C#, WCF, MS services, business messaging and related technologies.
 
THE CANDIDATE
 
Suitably qualified candidates will need to possess educational qualifications to GCSE standard with mathematics or a science based qualification. An IT based degree or equivalent qualification would be desirable. Any Microsoft Certified courses would be advantageous.
 
In addition to academic and professional qualifications, candidates should provide evidence of the following:
 A minimum of 6 months C# application development.Any experience of WCF services development would be advantageous.Any experience of web development would be advantageous.Any experience of mobile application development would be advantageous.Any experience of MS SQL Server SQL would be advantageous. 
As the site is large, with users dispersed over a wide area, a full driving licence and a car are essential.
