Client DetailsMy client, a leading commodities trading firm is looking for a Data Scientist to join our rapidly expanding business. The Data Scientists primary role is to help understand information & trends in vast amounts of energy market data, which will help us make smarter decisions to optimize trading strategies. DescriptionThe role requires a thought leader, who is comfortable working with high levels of ambiguity and uncertainty and communicating complex ideas easily to key stakeholder. You will also be applying data mining techniques, doing statistical analysis, and building high quality prediction systems. Working closely with Front Office traders to scope and deliver data science projects in the refined commodity derivatives space. As a Data Scientist your key responsibilities will cover the following:Investigating and Conceptualising market knowledge from Traders i.e. patterns, indicatorsRealising commonly observed trends into trading strategiesData cleansing and presenting large data sets from exchanges into an analysable/presentable modelAnalysing large sets of previous exchange provided data, working alongside traders to identify trading strategiesMaintaining and improving systematic trading tools ProfileExperience working with Time Series Forecasting/ModellingSolid coding/programming skills in Python or C++ - efficient, well-documented and maintainable modulesExperience working with large sets of dataAbility to communicate concisely and clearly under a high-pressure environment3+ years of hands on experience in a similar field Job OfferMy client are offering a basic salary of up to £85k plus a fantastic bonus and benefits package
