What will you be doing?

As a Scala Developer on this work package, you will work alongside our Customer's Team as they ramp up development for feature updates on a well-known product across web, mobile and tv applications. We require a Senior developer who is comfortable picking up tickets and hands on coding, but also experienced with mentoring junior team members as part of a shared code ownership team. The role holder will lead to ensure that the team's velocity target per sprint is met as part of the output for this work package.

Essential:

Significant experience with Scala on large, highly available and scalable systems

Experience working with Akka

Considerable experience with AWS. Specifically Lambda, S3, Dynamo DB and EC2

Experience mentoring/coaching junior team members

Proven experience working within agile environments including Scrum/Kanban following TDD principles

Experience of deploying production code in a Continuous Integration environment

Experience of build and test tools including Jenkins

Experience with pair programming, mobbing and coding

Experience building fully responsive web solutions across multiple devices

Pair programming experience, willing to work collaboratively to both give and receive feedback within a shared code ownership team

Strong working knowledge of Git and Jira
